Salvatore "Sam" Recupero

    DELTONA, Fla. -- Salvatore "Sam" Recupero, 76, of Deltona and Greenville, Maine, died Monday, Jan. 19, at Central Florida Regional Hospital.
Sam was born and raised in Lawrence, Mass., and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Midway in Greenland. For 42 years, he worked as a foreman at McCabe's Manufacturing Co. of Lawrence and had also served for 29 years with the Lawrence Fire Department as a firefighter, EMT and ambulance driver.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church, Lawrence, and a member of the Sons of Italy as well as an active member of the American Legion in Florida and Lawrence.
His family members include his wife Lorraine B. (Ameen) Recupero of Deltona and Greenville; son Steven and his wife Jennifer Recupero of Lawrence; daughter Lucille and her husband Ted Conrardy of Montgomery, Ill.; stepmother Nancy Recupero of Lawrence; sister Lucy Recupero of Pennsylvania; daughters-in-law Carolyn "Cooki" Recupero of Andover, Mass., and Susan Recupero of Deering, N.H.; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Sal Recupero and David Recupero.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. A funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence
